The Snakebite Film Festival launched in 2017, is about to kick off its fourth run on February 2nd at Landmark Cinemas. Artists, citizens, and filmmakers came together to create the vision statement, which was ‘Awakening Culture, Uniting Communities.’

The Snakebite Film Festival seeks to give voice to those seeking connection and community by highlighting stories of diversity. One of the key missions of Snakebite is to bridge different cultures and communities.

​

Access to films is fundamental and American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation will be provided at select films. In addition, the theatre is wheelchair accessible.

​

The film festival will include topics that cover stories of
local, LGBT+, Aboriginal, environmental, short films, and many more. You will "recoil" as we select films that provoke.

Snakebite is partnered with The Okanagan School of the Arts (OSA) as a profit-sharing endeavor. We also feel that private enterprises and non-profits are well aligned therefore the films are linked with non-profits to elevate each other, (with consent from corporate sponsors).
